The deep web is everything online that standard search engines do not index — content behind logins, paywalls, search forms, and databases. It is vastly larger than the surface web and is mostly mundane: banking portals, private accounts, academic databases, and dynamic query results.
The deep web is often confused with the dark web, but they are different: the deep web is simply unindexed, not hidden or illicit.
